Apple grew up? I thought apple WAS grown up in the first one. I assumed she was his girlfriend or something in the first one. She was part of the 'Strategists.' Why would a little kid be part of that?
They must have changed some of the character's names in the second one. I don't know who Cliff and Elena are, or even who Pohl is. I just looked up pictures, and couldn't even find the first two in the cast...might be the website that I looked at. Tsai wasn't in the first. I believe you're thinking of Tai Ho, whose brother was Yam Koo. They are supposed to be in there. It's weird how they changed the pictures of some of the originals so that they look completely different. Maybe they are trying to put a new spin on it? I don't know.
The last game had unity attacks too. For instance if you got all five of the blacksmiths in your party they could combine to do a powerful attack on one enemy. I played around with it a bit. I do agree with you, it really can make the game go quicker.
I'm bemused about having Viktor and Flik in the second game. Their fate in the first was something like, "Disappeared in the final battle never to be seen again." So I always assumed that they were dead...
That would be awesome if you could send me the "good ending" save file. Apparently, I was so distraught with how the game ended that I immediately deleted all files that I had of it. :'( A stupid thing to do in hindsight.
What's Poch?
Exactly, Gremio was full of love. Half of the time, I wondered if he was in love with the main character....But, I do think it's cool that they brought him back. Although, they didn't bother changing the ending where the four souls come out of the Soul Eater and protect the main character from Windy. They still have him there and also the Soul Eater didn't level down on the spells that you could do with it, as it should have if he had been brought back to life. Thus, I can only speculate that while Gremio's body lives again, he is now nothing more than a soul-less shell. Doomed to walk the Earth forever as a mere reflection of who he once was. Alas! Should such a fate really have fallen to him? Would not death had been better?
Anyways, I'm glad that you are enjoying it. I have started to play Chrono Trigger so that I can return that to you as well. You have FF IV, right? I believe that the last time you were here, or maybe the time before, you took it because you really wanted to play it and I had wanted to play Chrono Trigger since I had the sequel, Chrono Cross, and the games were boxed together. I'm really hoping that this is the case. Because otherwise I need to hunt down a copy of FF IV to give to you. I hate to think that I lost one of your games.

I have FFIV here. You don't need to worry! :) Let me know if you want to borrow any of them. I finished I and II, now I'm working on III on the DS. SO CUTE!
I guess it's been a while. I thought I recognized Cliff, but I guess it was a similar character. And Tsai is kinda like Tai Ho, and has a funny battle icon like a naked man in a loincloth!
I think you'll like the second one better. Yeah, Apple was a smart child student of the teacher. She was joking about the marriage, like a little girl.
I remember the Victor/Flik ending now. They have the same pictures in the second game, and they are mercenaries. It's great! But they never mention what happened to the original character. Maybe I should play the first game again. I think we have another copy here. Either we have 2 Suikoden copies or 2 Suikoden 2 copies. I forget!
Poch is money in the second game.
You know, that struck me about Gremio's revival. He wasn't as "loving" or as the same protective spirit as in the first part of the game. I really think that when he came back, he regained only a part of his soul, but just enough to reanimate his body. I am sure he died alone and forgotten. How sad for my poor Gremio!
I'll send the good ending! That way you can enjoy the second game!
Later!
